Lost knobs..   – What if I lose a knob, washer or bolt ?    Wing nuts together with spare bolts and steel washers can be used. Visit your hardware store with the device to check the wing nuts, bolts and washers all fit and take a few with on your trip just incase.

Lens Plates   – Will getting a longer lens plate make a difference ?     Yes,  using a longer lens plate ( eg. 20 -30cm in length ) will allow for better balancing as well as more control on the positioning of the gear used on the O-VCS, the VCS and the HSJ .  Lens plates can be purchased from photographic dealers.

Which Camera Support Mount is recommended  ?     Gimbal heads, Video heads and Ball heads with the standard 3/8″-16 thread can all be used. Gimbal heads are the most commonly used support mount. Gimbal heads having a tightening / loosening knob at the same level as the mount ( see Fig. 3a below ) may require a Spacer to heighten the gimbal. If possible, choose a gimbal head that has the knob above the mount ( see Fig, 3b below ).

The tightening knob of my Gimbal touches the surface when mounted.       A Spacer can be placed under the gimbal to heighten it. Spacers can be purchased from photographic dealers.

Can Prime lenses be used on the O-VCS ?    prime lenses such as 600mm, 800mm, … can be used on the O-VCS

Best Padding for the O-VCS ?    foam padding is favoured by most photographers .  Others use rubber or home made padding.

Can Large heavy lenses such as 400mm, 600mm Primes be used on the VCS in vehicles ?        It is only recommended to mount large lenses onto your Camera Support ( eg. gimbal, video head, ball head …) on the VCS when the vehicle is stationery and not to drive around with them mounted.

Can Medium sized lenses such as the 150-600mm zoom lenses be left mounted on the VCS while driving around ?        Yes , Medium sized lenses can be left mounted on the VCS while driving. One must drive slowly especially on rough surfaces and bumps. It is NOT recommended to drive with large Prime Lenses left mounted on the VCS
